Rose window
In 2021 we celebrated the 120th anniversary of the establishment of the Gödöllő Art Nouveau Colony. On this occasion, the 'Parallel Threads' exhibition was organized at the emblematic locations of the former artists' colony, where the invited artists created site-specific works.
My concept was inspired by the circular window in the Nagy Sándor-house. This window is a very prominent element of the building, however, unlike most of its windows, it does not look at the courtyard but at the neighborhood, which has changed quite a bit over the hundred and twenty years, thus not reflecting the art nouveau colony era. By rewriting the current view, the Rose window evokes the garden culture typical of the artists' colony, which is an organic composition made of plants native to the garden.
