Biodegradable sample collection

The biodegradable sample collection illustrates research on the use of plant waste. The purpose of this sample selection is to show the beauty and potential of the waste and to present the context of the materials. All of the tests on display are made from plant waste and natural binders, making them biodegradable.

The plant waste used to make the samples comes from local businesses and the surrounding nature. The waste was first dried and then shredded into powder. Casein glue, a milk-based, degradable adhesive, was used as a binder to form the samples. The glue, when combined with natural fibers, results in a resistant, hard surface.
